End of the Reich? vIV changes:
Reduced transport assets in many Allied units to 10% [or less] of original. [Many units had 999 trucks].
Removed trucks in some Allied HQ's units that had 999 authorized but needed none.
Map updates and adjustments.
Added Porter Squads to some units that had none and therefore only had one MP.
Some Allied unit arrivals represent units that were not involved in the campaign depicted and therefore were set to an arrival turn of 500 [they are still in the OOB but will not enter the scenario].
Transport Asset [Horse Team, Truck and Halftrack] Replacements have been reduced to 10% of the original amount.
Soviet PVO Bde's that had no Transport Assets have been given horse teams.
OOB adjustments [unit names, formation compositions, organization].
Replaced Jeeps in German units with Light Scout Cars.
Some unit color changes [utilizing TOAW IV's COL file].
Strength of German Flak Divisions has been reduced [from 768 to 384 88's] in order to affect the unit strength scaling.[further reduction to 270 would be closer to historical].
Added T-34's and T-70's to Guards Cavalry Corps.
The Fixed Reconstitution Points for both sides have been removed.
Artillery units for both sides have been rolled into HQ units.
USA's Field Artillery Groups have been added to corps and army HQ's.
Reinforcement dates have been adjusted to accomodate the change from full day to half week turns.
Event dates have been adjusted to accomodate the change from full day to half week turns.
The event for a German Instant Victory by capturing Paris has been modified to a Turn 1 Theater Option.
The event for an Allied Instant Victory by capturing Berlin has been modified to a Turn 1 Theater Option.
A 'safe area' for Russian unit reconstitution has been added to the eastern map edge.

Moved Airfields off of Road and Rail hexes to avoid Allied Interdiction Attacks [Interdiction was a playability issue]. To offset this, German Shock has been reduced by 5% and German Movement Bias has been set to 80%. Players should note that Allied Interdiction Attacks will still occur [primarily when units move into airfield hexes], and automatic Air Strikes will still occur at the end of each round.

German units with a red center to their icon are units that were used as replacements [Einsatz Divisions], training units [Ausbildungs] and alarm units. They will not reconstitute if eliminated or disbanded. Additionally, all units in the 'Armed Force Ned' formation will not reconstitute.

The British 76th and 77th Infantry Divisions and 9th Armored Division were defensive/training units that were never deployed in combat. Therefore they are located in England and Scotland and will remain there.

T-38's in the two Soviet Assault Brigades have been replaced with T-40's. [T-38's were historically cruddy and were quickly replaced by T-40's].

Theater Option [Russia]
Release 21st Army from High Command Reserve.
Available from turn 25. If taken, the 21st Army of fourteen Rifle Divisions will arrive at the eastern map edge and the German player will receive 90 VP's.

Theater Option [Germany]
Early withdraw in the West
In august 1944 the Western Allies broke out from the Normandy beachhead and instead of retreating the Germans chose to counterattack and the result was the loss of most of the 5th Panzer Army and 7th Army. Additionally, several formations were garrisoned in ports. If the German player chooses this Theater Option, the following Infantry Divisions will arrive in the Seigfried Line area on turn 2:
77, 242, 243, 244, 265, 266, 348.
The absence of these units from western France will free Allied garrison units for arrival on turn 2. This Theater Option is available on turn 1 only.

Theater Option [Germany]
Use 'KG Rink' to replenish 1.SS-Panzer Division
At the historic beginning of this scenario, the 1.SS-Panzer Division was being rebuilt. It became operational at the beginning of November after absorbing several units, including the Kampfgruppe Rink. In the scenario, on turn 14 the German player has a TO that if chosen will remove the KG Rink unit and the next turn the 1.SS-Pz Division will arrive as a reinforcement. This TO is not required to be taken and is available until taken.

Theater Options [Germany]
The Führer Begleit Brigade and Führer Grenadier Brigade each have a Theater Option in January 1945 to upgrade to a Division. Both TO's stay active until chosen. The player need not chose either if they desire not to. If chosen, the target Brigade will withraw the next turn and a new Division sized unit will arrive eight turns later.

Theater Option [Germany]
Form Marine Divisions [removes naval units]
This Theater Option is available starting February 1, 1945 [turn 40]. If taken, the German naval units and security detachments are permanently withdrawn and five Marine Infantry Divisions will arrive as reinforcements.

EotR vIV DESIGN NOTES:

Some units that were forming at the beginning of this scenario start with 33% readiness and Supply.

Foreign Volunteer Units [Freiwilligen] in the German Order of Battle have Black on Blue Icons. Because the
III.SS Korps contains mostly Foreign Volunteer Units, other units from the SS and Army that are attached to this formation have the same icon colors for cooperation purposes.

German Volks Artillery Korps historically contained three 170mm guns. The 170's have a range of three while
all other guns in these units have a range of one. For the sake of simplicity, in the scenario the 170's have been replaced with 180mm guns, which have similar statistics while having a range of only one.

The Panther II was a German tank design that had slightly thicker armour than the Panther, a new turret, a
new engine only 38% of the weight of the Panther, and incorporated Tiger II components such as the steering gear, final drives, the suspension system, transmission, all-steel 80-centimetre diameter road-wheels and running gear. Production was slated to begin in September 1943, but it did not progress beyond prototypes and did not enter production. However, the concepts and ideas were used for the design of the E-50 Standardpanzer project.
In the scenario there are some Jagdpanzer and Heavy Panzer units that arrive on various dates after May 8,
1945. These include four Panzer Abteilungs that include 'Panther E/50' tanks. This is a new equipment category designed for this scenario.

The Germans built an electron accelerator called Rheotron to generate hard X-ray synchrotron beams for the
Reichsluftfahrtministerium (RLM). Invented in the 1930s, these were later called Betatrons by the Americans. The intent was to pre-ionize ignition in aircraft engines, causing loss of power and engine failure, and hence serve as an anti-aircraft DEW [directed-energy weapon] to bring planes down into the reach of the flak.
The Rheotron is a new equipment type and each of the three Berlin Flak Towers begins the scenario with 0/1 of
them. They arrive as replacements in June 1945.

Gorgopotamos Viaduct [96,155]
The Gorgopotamos Viaduct was destroyed in Operation Harling on 25 November 1942. In the scenario this is assumed to be depicted by a break in the rail line at this location. However, research [Wiki] indicated that the bridge was repaired in 19 days. This area is far from active parts of the map so I don't think the rail line would affect the scenario whether broken or not, so I have left it as it was in the original design [maybe there is another reason why it is this way].
